Hydroxyethyl Cellulose HEC for paint, cosmetics, oil industry
【Brief Introduction:】Name: Hydroxyethyl cellulose
Abbreviation: HEC
Molecular formula: [C6H7O2(OH)3-x〖OCH(OH)CH3〗x]n
【Hydroxyethyl cellulose Characteristics】
Thickening
Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) is the ideal thickener paint and cosmetics. Practical applications, the thickening and suspension, safety, dispersion, water retention combined application will produce even better results.
Pseudoplastic
Pseudoplastic viscosity that increases with the speed and reduce the nature. The paint containing HEC easily with a brush or roller construction and increase the surface smoothness, so you can increase the work efficiency; with HEC's shampoo is good and very viscous liquid, easily diluted, easy to disperse.
Salt tolerance
HEC in high concentration salt solution is very stable, will not break down into plasma state. Used in electroplating, the plating makes the surface more complete light. It is worth noting that applied boron salts, silicates and carbonates in the paint, still has a good viscosity.
Film-Forming
HEC film forming can be applied in many industries. In the papermaking operation, HEC coated with the polish to prevent the penetration of grease, and other aspects of the paper used for the preparation of the solution; in the textile process, HEC can increase the flexibility of reducing the fiber causing mechanical damage. Sizing and fabric dyeing and finishing process, HEC can play the role of temporary protective film, if not its protection, the available water will wash away from the fibers.
Water Retention
HEC is conducive to maintaining the water system in an ideal state. Because the HEC aqueous solution containing a small amount of water can be a very good effect, making the system when the ingredients reduced the demand for water. If there is no water retention and adhesion of cement mortar will reduce its strength and bond strength, clay in a certain pressure will be reduced plasticity.

3.Applications
Hydroxyethyl cellulose in paints
Hydroxyethyl cellulose can be used in all typers of latex paints from low to high PVC. It suitable for all types of interior and exterior paints.
The advantages of Hydroxyethyl Cellulose are as follows:
Efficient thickening
Excellent color acceptance
Superior workability
Excellent stability
Good leveling
HEC in Cosmetics Industry:
Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) is a non-ionic, water soluble polymer used as a an effective film-former, binder, thickener, stabilizer, and dispersant for aqueous cosmetic and personal care formulations such as body washes, air conditioners, shampoos, hair sprays, creams and lotions.
In liquid detergents and hand cleaners, HEC is used as a thickener and protective colloid.
Advantages of Honest HEC
1. It offers efficient and cost-effective options for making crystal clear gel products.
2. Preparations based on HEC can improve body smoothness, and silkiness.
3. Natural, safe and non-irritating.
4. High stability, good compatibility
HEC in Oil Drilling Industry:
HEC HEC in oilfield is mainly used as thickening stabilizer of treatment process, it has good thickening effect, suspended sand ability strong and stable, heat resistant, high capacity salt, small, less liquid loss in pipelines, fast break, low residue, is a kind of good oilfield chemicals, widely used in oil drilling, well completion, cementing operation.
Specific application of hydroxyethyl cellulose in oil fields:
Drilling fluid: the drilling fluid with hydroxyethyl cellulose is usually used for hard rock drilling as well as for special conditions such as control of circulating water leakage, excessive water loss, abnormal pressure and uneven shale. The application effect is also very good in the process of drilling and big hole drilling.
HEC hydroxyethyl cellulose can also be used as non-fermentable protective glue in drilling mud for oil well treatment and the determination of high pressure (atmospheric pressure) and temperature. It is the thickening agent and cementing agent of well workover fluid. It helps to provide a clear solution of low fixed content, which greatly reduces damage to the well structure. "Fuying" hydroxyethyl-cellulose HEC can be used as an additive in non-dispersed bentonite mud, which can reduce water loss and increase viscosity without increasing gel strength. At the same time, the application of HEC in drilling mud can disperse clay in the well and prevent well collapse
Fracturing fluid: in fracturing fluid, hydroxyethyl cellulose can improve its adhesion, and hydroxyethylcellulose itself has no influence on the oil layer, and will not block crack glume, which can be used to fracture the oil well. At the same time, it has the general characteristics of water-based fracturing fluid, such as strong suspension capacity and low friction. Water base fracturing fluid made of hydroxyethyl cellulose HEC is basically free of residue after liquefaction, especially suitable for the formation with low permeability and unable to reverse discharge residue. Under alkaline conditions, it forms complex with solutions such as manganese chloride, copper chloride, copper nitrate, copper sulfate and bichromate, and is used for fracturing fluid with supporting agent. Fuying hydroxyethyl-cellulose HEC is less prone to corruption and deterioration in underground conditions, with low residue, and basically will not block oil roads and cause underground pollution. In terms of performance, it is much better than the commonly used glue in fracturing.
4.Packaging
Hydroxyethyl cellulose Product is packed in an inner polyethylene bag reinforced with a 3-ply paper bag, or paper barrel or paper box, net weight is 25kg per bag.
5.Transportation and Storage
Protect the product against moisture and damp.
Don't put it together with other chemicals.
