Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is water-soluble polymers derived from cellulose. Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is used as thickeners, binders, film-formers and water-retention agents for a broad range of products.

Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) can be used as the binder and plasticiser for the shaping of colored pencils and crayons.
1. After HPMC is added, the lead of the pencil achieves a higher flexibility and a higher braking
